The Social Goat

Technology promised to bring us together. Instead, it has polarised and separated us.

Social media is neither social nor media. They are attention machines designed to capture your gaze, harvest your vulnerabilities and sell your personal data to the highest bidder. They create addiction and shallow relationships, while your life is reduced to training data for algorithms and language models. Now, the world of AI promises to make us more efficient.

We refuse to accept that this is the only way people and technology can meet.

The Social Goat is not a social medium. It is an invisible social catalyst. We want to bring people together: to strengthen the relationships you already have, and create new, meaningful encounters. It is not about the technology, the AI, or the product idea.

The problem isn’t that you’re not social enough. The problem is that being social requires quite a lot, and every tool you’ve been handed was built to keep you alone. We want to make it easier.

Our unwavering principles

1. Invisibility as the measure of success

Great technology should not require your attention and time; it should be there when you need it, disappear and work in the background. We will not measure our success in screentime, but rather in proven user value.

2. You are the user, never the product

We will never sell your data and we will not train closed AI models on your private conversations. We will never engage in behaviourally manipulative advertising.

We will charge for the value we deliver and we believe that people are willing to pay for something that works for them. Our business models will always be built to withstand the light of day, and your data belongs to you.

3. Radical ethical sustainability

No rabbit-hole-algorithms that reward anger and insecurity. No chasing likes or followers. We build tools that respect your nervous system and protect your mental integrity, and we do not care how much money that can be earned from exploiting you. We’re building for our kids, our friends, ourselves.

4. Technology that improves your life

We will invite and open up to independent researchers and learn from their findings. Their results will be public at their discretion. Our goal is to ensure that our solution truly improves the lives of its users. If we learn otherwise we will change.

We promise to give you the social confidence you need to raise your gaze.
